May 21 Small Balance Patch
Section titled “May 21 Small Balance Patch”Released May 21, 2026. SteamDB build: 23346958.
What Changed
Section titled “What Changed”| Area | Change | Wiki pages |
|---|---|---|
| Boss artifacts | Boss artifacts give more PP, and the Great World Spire reward gets a larger PP payout. | Best Artifacts, Great World Spire Checklist |

May 21 Windowed Resizing and Linux Fixes
Section titled “May 21 Windowed Resizing and Linux Fixes”Released May 21, 2026. SteamDB build: 23353153.
What Changed
Section titled “What Changed”| Area | Change | Wiki pages |
|---|---|---|
| Window and Linux support | Fixes windowed resizing, aspect ratio behavior, black bars, GUI layout, and related prestige reset issues. | Common Questions |
| Flamelords | Rebalances the late fireball payoff so it follows a fire build that is already stacking fields reliably, not an automatic rush. | Flamelords, Best Builds |
| Key Master | Buffs Key Master again after the earlier balance patch. | Key Master, Triple Seal Gate |
| Fixes | Includes minor text, typo, and small behavior fixes. | Changelog |
Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”Fire remains strong, but Flamelord’s Wrath should be treated as a payoff after firefields are already working, not a reason to buy Wrath before Rapid Ignition, The Great Pyre, and Infernal Symphony have made the fire engine reliable. Key Master is more important for Triple Seal Gate reliability than launch-era notes suggested.

What Changed
Section titled “What Changed”| Area | Change | Wiki pages |

| Artillery | Buffs Great Duke Cannon, artillery scaling, Air Strike, and Nuclear Research synergy. | Artillery Hall, Great Duke Cannon |
| Laboratory | Buffs Power Overwhelming by adding more damage per tier. | Power Overwhelming, Scientists Guide |
| Miner prestige | Buffs C.L.U.S.T.E.R.P.I.C.K. and adds more tiers to that route. | C.L.U.S.T.E.R.P.I.C.K., Best Prestige |
| Megapick | Buffs Megapick base damage and miner scaling. | Megapick, Best Builds |
| Fixes | Fixes Key Master den-drop behavior, Triune Prism Stonecaller counting, Laser Cannon cooldown rounding, ritual warnings, and some reload cost bugs. | Key Master, Laser Cannon |
Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”The boss change is the most important part for routing. Failing Dragon’s Peak or Balrogg’s Pit is no longer an automatic reset point; continue the run, strengthen the build, then return for the artifact.

| New Tier 6 prestige | Adds Ascended Gold Cache, Endless Mithril Fortune, and Ancestral Halls. | Prestige, Late Game Ascension |
| Start-resource buffs | Ascended Soul Cache and Ascended Mithril Cache were both buffed. | Ascended Soul Cache, Ascended Mithril Cache |

| The Nauglamir | Gains a PP-doubling passive for mountain PP gains. | The Nauglamir, Great World Spire Checklist |
| Alchemy | Adds the I hotkey, changes the mithril cost ramp to every 25 uses, and improves Tier 5 artifact odds. | Alchemy, Scientists Guide |

Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”This patch makes ascension planning much more important. Starting resources and repeatable Tier 6 upgrades are stronger, Nauglamir becomes a real PP engine instead of only a gate artifact, and Alchemy becomes less punishing over long runs because the mithril cost rises more slowly.

Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”This is the patch that turns late-game prestige into a much smoother loop. Foundations of Stone reduces setup time, Primordial Hunger improves long post-100 mountain farming, and artillery gets enough cost and scaling help to be more than a novelty branch.

v1.2.1 PP Hotfix

|---|---|---|
| PP loss hotfix | Fixes a bug that could remove PP after the prior patch, and gives a compensation grant to saves that had already prestiged. | Prestige, When to Prestige |
| Primordial Hunger | Excess chance over 100% now rolls into another PP chance instead of being wasted. | Primordial Hunger, Late Game Ascension |
| Big-number display | Fixes additional rounding cases for very large values. | Mountain Health |
| Foundations of Stone | Fixes missing free scientists and runesmiths after buying Foundations of Stone. | Foundations of Stone, Scientists Guide |

Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”If you are playing after this patch, Primordial Hunger is better than a flat capped chance suggests because overflow keeps mattering. Foundations of Stone is also safer to buy because its free-staff behavior was fixed.

Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”Late artillery is less punishing to enter than it was at launch. Air Strike and Nuclear Research still belong after the Artillery Hall economy is online, but the patch makes them easier to justify in a serious cannon route.

v1.3.0 Endless Artifacts, QoL, Buffs, and Fixes
Section titled “v1.3.0 Endless Artifacts, QoL, Buffs, and Fixes”Released June 6, 2026. This was a major late-game update: it added a repeatable artifact loop, added a new Tier 6 prestige upgrade, buffed artillery, and improved save-file safety.
What Changed
Section titled “What Changed”| Area | Change | Wiki pages |
|---|---|---|
| Endless Artifacts | Adds repeatable artifacts that can drop from artifact-yielding mechanics after every non-Tier 5 artifact has been collected. The repeatable rewards are +0.5% all-dwarf damage, +0.5% ore gold value, or +1 PP. | Endless Artifacts, Best Artifacts, Artifact Sources and Missing Relics |
| New Tier 6 prestige | Adds King of the Spire. Rank 1 starts The Great World Spire automatically after 10 seconds. Rank 2 lets the spire keep moving when missing artifacts would otherwise stop progress. | King of the Spire, Great World Spire Checklist, Late Game Ascension |
| Vault of Gods | Adds two more ranks to Vault of Gods. | Vault of Gods, Best Prestige Upgrades |
| Air Strike | Raises Air Strike base damage from 20% to 30%, so Tier 4 Nuclear Research makes it 90% instead of 60%. Air Strike rockets now use Cannon crit chance instead of a flat 5%. | Air Strike, Nuclear Research, Best Upgrades |
| Save handling | Improves save-file handling, Steam Cloud rollback protection, and adds a session-start save snapshot. | Common Questions, Late Game Ascension |
| Alchemy UI | Alchemy result panels now close after 6 seconds. | Alchemy, Scientists Guide |
| Safer destructive actions | Delete Save and Begin Game on the prestige screen now require holding the button. | When to Prestige, Common Questions |
| Bug fixes | Fixes duplicate artifacts, some GUI/settings issues, an Insatiable Guzzler issue after Great Inhale ritual, mirrored damage numbers for Wrecking Ball, and other smaller issues. | Insatiable Guzzler, Wrecking Ball |
Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”If you are still missing required artifacts, use the Great World Spire Checklist before farming repeatables. Once the non-Tier 5 artifact pool is exhausted, Endless Artifacts make artifact systems keep paying out in long late-game runs.
Air Strike also deserves a higher late-artillery priority after this patch because both its damage and crit behavior improved.

| Stability | Fixes a potential crash. | Common Questions |
Player Takeaway
Section titled “Player Takeaway”The practical change is simple: if you are farming Endless Artifacts, right-click the preferred reward type and let the game auto-pick it. For artillery builds, Air Strike should now behave closer to the intended v1.3.0 power level.
